noel and i have probably gone thru like 300 sippy cups before we found the perfect one in Nuby's Flip-itTM cup. i have bought many, and thrown a lot away cos they have failed the Hurricane Drayden Test.

some sippy cups are just too hard to wash, but most importantly, a good number of them that we have tried are not really as spill-proof as they claim to be. when i mean spill-proof, i mean no water should be sprinkling out when my monster of a toddler decides to shake his sippy cup and sprinkle his drinking water at me like its holy water!

and i don't mean just the straw area. even the lid has to be secure and tight to ensure that no water seeps out when its not in standing position. you gotta admit, mommies are usually always in a hurry, and everything gets chucked and tossed one side, as we keep one eye on our kids that's running off at a speed of 100km/h, while we hurriedly pack our belongings and try to keep up.

AND it's gotta be hardy to throws as well! i tell you, drayden, he's not fond of putting things down nicely when he's done with them. he just lets them fall from his hands! grrr... and when he's sitting in his pushchair, yes, sometimes he's a good boy, turns around and hands me his sippy cup when he's had enough, BUT 85.9789% of the time, he'll just hang his hand to the side of his ride, and let the cup fall out of his hands. GRRRRR!!!!

so, MY sippy cup has to be spill-proof, SHAKE-proof, and really really hardy.
and this i found in the nuby flip-itTM cup. at only SGD$10.90, it's definitely a great deal, compared to some of the ones i've spent nearly $20 on.

there're a lot of things i like about this cup. the wide mouth of the sippy cup makes for easy washing, so i do not need to use a bottle brush like with other cups. also, the soft flexible silicone safety straw cannot be removed from the top of the cup, so even with yanking and biting (as most toddlers like to do when drinking), it won't come off.

but whats best is the textured bumps on the cup's body and its contoured design. it makes it easy for a kid to hold independently, and i like how "fat" the cup is, so it feels really good in your hands. drayden loves it too, and he's always hugging the cup close to his chest whenever he takes a sip!

and have you seen the many colors they come in?
drayden's is the red one! =)

so yeah, i think our search for the perfect sippy cup has ended, thanks to Nuby!
if you're still looking for the perfect one, try the Flip-itTM cup, and who knows, you may just agree with me! =)

I think all moms go through truckloads of sippy cups .. I know I have too.

So far, I am ok with the Munchkin ones .. but since u recommend this one, I will try it for my littlest one :p

i tried the munchkin ones as well, they have the same "fatness" and a nice grip like these nuby ones, but the one major complaint is, its not as spill proof as it says. when dray overturns and starts shaking the cup, water does drizzle out. and my bedsheet is always wet!

also, the straw area is really tough to clean too.

Fir:
yeah i think it is too!
if he can sip from a straw already, then he'll love this new and colorful cup!
dray likes to hug it when he's drinking, lol..

Hi Anonymous, as mentioned in the post (just under the picture) you can find it major departmental stores' kids department or baby hypermarts like Kiddy palace. thats where i got mine.
but i think NTUC or Giant or even Carrefour may have it.

lol :p u may be right about it not being spillproof cos it's my older girls that use the Munchkin cups ..

I will definitely get the Nuby for my youngest .. hehe.

Nadra:
lol...sounds like he's still fond of the suckling! =)
i forgot to add, this nuby cup is for 9mos onwards too! oops!

kristalangel:
hahahaa...yeah..when they're younger, i guess it'll work, but when they're at the toddler stage, oh no! everything has got to come with added "security" measures and proven "toddler-proof" features! =p

hmmmm.. we're using the munchkin one and the "holy water" does come sprinkling somethings onto me.. if this is really really drip proof then i'm definitely getting it
