i read on Catherine's blog how her adorable princess, Bernice, is already able to say at least 70 words - at only 17months! it was a pre-enrollment survey into shichida, but nonetheless very, very impressive! girls are always more advanced than boys, they say, and i couldn't agree more!
taking Cat's cue, i wanted to sit down, think long and hard, and list all the words that Dray could say, just for fun. no, not to compare or compete! i just thought it would be an interesting activity! =)
ok, one or two of them may not be proper words, its words he has assigned, but the meaning is understood! and some of them maaay not be pronounced that well yet, but as long as it sounds sssssomewhat similar, it counts for me! lol!
so here we go!

5. bird - actually he says it "bik"! =)
6. nose
7. nice - oh he says this a hundred times a day!
8. star - and this too!

10. no (sometimes he says "oh noooo" too!) - his favorite word!

16. move - though it sounds like "moosh", heheh
17. wa dis? - which is "what's this", and his second favorite word!
18. buy this - yes! he actually says "buy this"! he'll point at something in a shop, asks "niiiice?" and when we say yes, he'll say "buy this?" too funny!

20. nai-nite - which is for goodnight

23. tah tee - which is really reeeeeally a good try for "thank you" =)

you'd notice "mommy" is not in the list, heh. its very funny. you can ask him to say "daddy" (or any other word for that matter), and he'll say it, but when you ask him to say "mommy", he'll cheekily point at me and say "there!". hahaa...it's really funny!

most times i'm synonymous with "mi-milk" anyway, so why bother learning a new word rite? lol! and no, just in case you were wondering, i was NOT topless! i was wearing a tube top, lah!
so! dray does have 70 words to his vocab! i was worried mid-list cos it was sure hard to think of the words he can say! i suppose it's pretty awesome, considering some of them are pretty "big" words for a 21-month old. like "taxi", "change" and "finish". and of course, "brush teeth"!
and and and...the fact that he's able to string two words together is an awesome feat too! like he'll say "wow! nice?" as he's building blocks or "bubba! there!" whenever he sees water, and "daddeeee...where?" (with his opened palms, of course!) whenever noel's not home. and this is a classic. whenever he's dancing to a song, and it ends, he'll turn to me and go: "finish? boo...." funny right!
the other day we were at ikea with Dina and Nal, just window shopping, when he suddenly pointed to a lamp, and said: "niiiiice? buy this?"
it was too funny and it was such a surprise that he was capable of that, we were all cracking up! yesterday while we were having sushi for dinner, he was playing with the plastic covers, stacking them up, and then with pride he exclaimed: "tadaa! wow!" followed by, "nice?"
i have a feeling he's gonna talk my ears off when he talks better! i'm dreading the day the why-s start coming! lol!
