ok! lots to blog about cos the rest of this week was filled with many happenings! let's start with dray's class on thursday!
school on tuesday and thursday
this week, we were late for both classes cos mommy couldn't wake up, haha. drayden, too! and of course i am the alarm clock in the household, so if I don't get up, neither will the two big babies. anyway, i promised pictures of dray's artwork from tuesday's class, didn't i? here it is!

as mentioned, this term we're doing transport and travel, thus all artwork is centered on vehicles and means of travelling. this one here is a "lake" with a "bridge" and three fishing folks on their tiny boats. dray painted the blue glue paint all by himself, but of course mommy helped with pasting the bridge on. he helped to peel off the double sided tape though! =) and then dray pasted the three fishing boats exactly where he wanted them to be. neat, huh?

now this one is the coolest artwork so far! it's a rocket launching to space!
we first had to paint the papercup (or the rocket launcher) with black glue paint. of course, dray was freaking out every few seconds, cos he had to hold the cup with one hand, and though his fine motor skills is awesome, he does still get some black paint on the fingers holding up the cup, so its a very stressful process for him! lol! he was exclaiming "oh no, oh no" the entire time, and periodically throwing the cup and the brush down, only for me to pick it up and urge him to continue, and he will, but he'll chuck them down again two seconds later, and the cycle continues. heh.
but he was pacified when we got to the part where he had to stick on the moon and the stars. i think he went overboard! lol! soooo many stars, cos duh! stars are his favorite! and then we sprinkled sparkles on it, and stuck the rocket thru the papercup.
ra, ra, ra for rocket! =)
thursday's class was even more fun! we made our very own mobile!

isn't it lovely? =)
we worked on the mobile "pieces" separately. using styrofoam, we dabbed paint on the jet plane and the sun. i think the idea is to have a "dotted" effect courtesy of the styrofoam, but drayden went a liiiiittle crazy with the dabbing so we ended up with smears of paint instead, haha! but it's still his creative work! =)

next we painted glue on the bird and the cloud, and stuck feathers and wool on them respectively. again, we have a freaked out baby, with feathers and wool stuck to his fingers. heh! when will he ever get used to getting messy??
and this was an artwork from last week:

for outdoor play, the teachers arranged a super duper fun floor painting activity, but drayden - is there even a need to say this?? - stayed well away! there were trays and trays of colorful paints, and isn't it fun to just dump your hands in or even stomp your feet in them, and then paint your prints on paper? but NOOOOO, not for my little royal highness.
look at the other children having fun!

sigh...i wished dray would be more game to get messy. he's such a clean freak which is super odd, cos noel and i are very "bo-chap". we don't freak out when he's exploring and touching things as a baby, so i really have no idea how he's a clean freak!
friday swim class
we didn't go for swim class on friday cos the rain was super heavy in the morning. not a good thing, cos the idea is to get dray more used to water. *grumble*
ahh well, perhaps we'll go to the public pool again on monday.
our wedding anniversary
ah yes! our wedding anniversary was on friday!
i totally would have forgotten about our wedding anniversary if not for facebook! which is strange cos virgos are supposed to be super organised and super crazy about remembering important events and everyone's birthday. i only remembered our anniversary like, three days before the date!
we didn't do anything special for this year's anniversary though. if you're a parent, you'd agree and understand that all celebrations need to be kept PG, and more often that not, are planned around your kids.
so we just headed to our favorite eating place in toa payoh, nothing fancy, just a regular hawker which serves the most kick-ass dishes, and chowed down on our favorite meals.
after stuffing our face silly, we headed down to the Botanical Gardens, cos believe it or not, we have not brought drayden to the Jacob Ballas Gardens at all! so we made a special plan to on this day. we thought he'd love all the walking space and all the fun activities at the garden, but this boy never fails to surprise us. he didn't like the sand area, and duhhhh, he didn't like the water play area, and he didn't even want to play at the playground! hell, he didn't even want to walk around or get excited at the sight of other children! very emo, man!
he was happier when we sat by the lake, away from the JB gardens, and was only agreeable to walking then, happily picking up sticks and twigs as he trod along.
pictures from the botanical gardens...

noel and i actually got a little lost walking out of the gardens trying to find the main gate. we ended up taking the main road outside, and landed near dempsey. and it was mad exhausting! all the walking!
oh yes! how can i forget, you're prolly wondering what we got each other as anniversary gifts! =)
check out what my husband got me!

an iPhone! a 16GB 3GS iPhone!
he actually wanted to get me the white one, cos he knows i love my gadgets white, but unfortunately he couldn't find one in time. i still love it the same! =)
and not only that, he also got me a Kate Spade iPhone cover which is still on the way. no, not the rubberized case, but a KS leather iPhone case. =) aren't i lucky!
and here is where i hide my face in shame and hold up my "Lousy Wife of the Year" award. what did i get him? a lousy shaver! YES! a lousy cheapo shaver! in my defense, he DID say he badly needed one after his existing one failed on him, so i decided to be practical and all, can?? *covers face in disgrace*
oi! i can still hear y'all sniggering okay! *sulks*
our weekend
our weekend was a lot less eventful, cos i'm still recovering from all the walking we did on friday! the whole of saturday i spent exploring my new phone, going crazy downloading applications and discovering the dumb minah side of me. YES! i'm an iPhone gundu! oh my god, i did't even know how to turn the phone silent lor! i had to google it!
also i downloaded "scrabble" (i LOVE scrabble!) and am now glued to my phone 24-7, cos i'm so addicted to it! i'm thinking if i should download monopoly too. maybe not! heh!

later in the night drayden and i headed down to Timbre with Dina, and met up with Sara. noel was out with his boys drinking. i did some quick shopping at mustaffa too!
and now, today...i'm just in a super lazy mode, "scrabbling" now and then, cos i just can't find the energy to do anything productive. it was with superhuman strength that i plonked myself in from of the lappie to blog! and editing pictures to post is so cumbersome!
tomorrow is the start of a whole new week and the cycle starts again!
i'm gonna rest now. i still feel like i just lifted an elephant and ploughed a padi field with my pet ox.
ta for now!

OH MY GOD!!
NOEL DESMOND BOYD!! YOU ARE SO SWEET LAH!!
you certainly outdid yourself bro, that was so sweet of you! ANN I'M SO THRILLED FOR YOU! WELCOME TO THE IPHONE FAMILIA! hehehe.
ay, you need to download Words with Friends from the appstore so we can play scrabble together! (:
and download whatsapp too, so we can sms chat for free.
i'm planning to get an iphone for Salhan's birthday in april too. i want everyone to convert to an iphone user so i can play Words with Friends! muahahaha.
~*Starryluvly*~ & Shyanne, i'll be checking those apps out!
but eh, how come i cannot buy songs from iTunes ah? i already have an account.
also, how come i can create a ringtone on iTunes? it says i can only create a ringtone using songs bought from iTunes.
BUT I CANT EVEN BUY A SONG IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!
everytime i go to the iTunes store, i only see apps and games. no songs.
and it says its not supported in my country.
what the f. tsk!
Shyanne i have words with friends if you're looking for a scrabble buddy!
Ann if you search for ringtones in the app store, there is one which is actually a set of instructions for making ringtones out of any mp3.
cos iTunes for songs is not supported in singapore, sadly. so you cannot download songs. but you can still make it using apps or even custom making them from itunes itself, with a few steps. you can google it!
anyway, STARRLUVLY add me, username shyannesoraya! (=
Ok so now I know how to make ringtones already. Heh! Thanks for the email, Nadia!
I actually downloaded it before u emailed me but thought it was a scam app, so I deleted it! Lol!
But now I know it helps!
Choosing the suitable parts of a song is the hardest!
