this time last year i was already frantically planning drayden's birthday party, which was three months away. he turns a year older every april. but somehow, this year just doesn't see me as distressed and frenzied as last year. i haven't even found thought of a venue yet!
i don't know if it's the experience of having planned an epic first birthday party before that assures i can accomplish the second one in a shorter time frame, or the recollection of the stress we went through (not to mention expenses!) that is just stalling my motivation to start planning.
whatever it is, i will keep my promise to give my son the bestest birthday party ever every year till he tells me to stop because he wants to celebrate turning 18 partying and painting the town red with his friends and (grrrr...) girlfriend. *sniff*

it's so strange that dray's first birthday felt like one fit for adults as well. i never thought i would enjoy such a baby's birthday so much.
